One of my projects on the site is called List-O-Rama, a list keeping app (for ToDo's, birthday lists, etc.). Uses php & mysql on the back, javascript/jquery/bootstrap on the client side, with a JSON-based ajax approach. Give it a try!

My recent blogging efforts have focused on Mind in Mind which is about neuroscience and scientific understanding of the mind (which in my view is enabled by, but not the same as, the brain). I also have a more general blog called Mediated, lately only used for end-of-year lists, but the activity there may pick back up again.
